Transmitting a video signal between a player and a screen or projector is not an easy task. Usually there are no problems if both devices are close to each other and short cables are used. Problems arise when it is necessary to transmit the image over a greater distance, or when you want to distribute or modify the signals. We offer our customers equipment from the Australian manufacturer Blustream, which is designed for professional work with video signals and can solve all the most common problems.
Long distance video signal distribution
A typical HDMI cable can transmit a signal up to 20 meters away, but if you want 4K resolution, you won’t achieve such distance. For example, you want to install an outdoor advertising LED screen near the store, and the player will be inside the building – in such case, you will need video transmission and reception devices that transmit the HDMI signal in different form: via optical, coaxial or network cable. The equipment is selected after evaluating the required video transmission resolution and the distance between the devices, so we always recommend consulting Audiotonas specialists.
Video distribution to multiple screens of projectors
Most video players (be it a computer or a specialized device) have the ability to output signal to only 1 screen or projector at a time. What if you need more? For example, a bar with several screens in different areas that need to show the same image to the visitors? With Blustream signal hubs, you can transmit a single video source to up to 8 screens or projectors, also these devices have a video processor that scales the image corresponding to the resolution of each connected screen. This way you can use both 4K and lower resolution screens at the same time.
Video from multiple sources
With multiple video sources, it is most convenient to manage them with video switching devices: switching between sources happens very quickly, avoiding the situation where the projector or screen has to “process” the settings, resolution, etc. of the video source every time it switches. There is also no longer the inconvenience of plugging cables, and the operation of the equipment can be automated or connected to other indoor equipment (room automation). For example, in your multifunctional space, a video projector is used to display from TV, a video player, and a computer – all these video sources can be controlled by one device, which can additionally control lights or blinds in the room (you video starts – the room is “darkened”, after that – automatically turns off the projector).
Sound signal embedding and de-embedding
If you have a separate sound system in the spaces, then you can de-embed the audio signal from the video. Most signal hubs have this feature, but a stand-alone device can also be used if additional functionality is not required. There is also the opposite possibility – to embed audio from other audio sources to the existing HDMI video signal, so the possibilities of application become limitless.
Signal correction
The Blustream SM11 HDMI signal corrector is designed to solve various video standards compatibility problems that may occur when transmitting HDMI signals, especially in 4K formats (HDCP 2.2, Clock stretching, EDID, Handshaking). We always recommend entrusting the installation of video systems to specialists, but even when performing the work your self, we suggest consulting with Audiotonas specialists regarding possibility of emerging problems or choosing the most suitable equipment.
